Hymenoxys scaposa (Thrift-Leaf Perky Sue) is one of our very best native wildflowers. Drought tolerant, the tidy mound of evergreen foliage is covered with bright yellow daisies in late spring. Perky Sue often re-blooms after summer rains. Drought resistant/drought tolerant perennial plant (xeric).
Description
5″ tall x 8″ wide. Hymenoxys scaposa (Thrift-Leaf Perky Sue) is a wonderful everblooming yellow daisy that is both heat loving and drought tolerant. The foliage is evergreen and looks just like Armeria. A vigorous re-seeder, it quickly colonizes harsh areas of the garden. Perky Sue loves gravel mulch. We use it to interplant with cold hardy cacti. Provide lean, well-drained soil. Once established Hymenoxys scaposa is very xeric, needing little extra water. (seed propagated)
